On Tuesday, May 19th, 2015, Julie Hartenfels, WB Skinner Vice President, joined a coalition from the New York/New Jersey Foreign Freight Forwarders & Brokers Association (NYNJFFF&B) traveling to Washington, D.C. to meet with Congressman Donald Payne, Jr. (NJ 10thDistrict), John Rayfield, Staff Director for the House Subcommittee on U.S. Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation, Gene Matorony and Sadaf Khan from Congressman Albio Sires’ office (NJ 8th District), Tom Doelp from Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen’s office (NJ 11th District), and Matthew Satterley from Congressman Frank LoBiondo’s office (NJ 2nd District).
One of the important objectives of the visit was to highlight the need for additional language to S. 1298, which will help to address East Coast port congestion problems.
In addition to Ms. Hartenfels, the group included Charles Riley, President of NYNJFFF&BA (John A. Steer Co.), David Corn (C.J. Holt & Co., Inc.), and Jeannette Gioia (Serra International).
